Turtlewatch (2008 - 2008)

Project outline:

A turtle awareness workshop, followed by a training workshop for volunteers resulted in turtle nest monitoring at Nelly Bay and Dingo Beach. All data was forwarded to QPWS for inclusion in Wildnet. A number of turtle habitat signs were installed to raise awareness among visitors and residents alike (Hydeaway Bay, Dingo Beach, Nelly Bay, Conway Beach and Midge Point).

Project achievements and outcomes:

Turtle monitoring commenced in Whitsunday
Turtle habitat signs installed at 5 beaches.
